YEAR 1

Welcome to Term 1, 2021! My name is Mrs. Stacey Koktas and I am lucky enough to be teaching the Year 1 class this year.

The students have settled in really well to the classroom and are quickly learning the routines of the Year 1 class.

This year we have welcomed two new friends to our class- welcome Selma and Awais. We hope you love our school as much as we do.

Each Monday, I will be assigning Mathletics and Reading Eggs tasks for the students, these need to be completed by Friday. Students are also bringing home their Oxford Maths homework book – the outline is stuck inside the front cover. This is also due each Friday.

Students have their Reading Eggs/Mathletics login details glued inside their yellow take home reading book. Please help your children by listening to them read each night and practise their words. After reading, please sign their yellow reading book and I will give them a sticker the next day.

Please remember that no nutella, nut products will be allowed in the classroom- they will be sent home again in the child’s bag. We have a child in our class with severe anaphylaxis and we need to be extra careful to keep them safe and healthy in the class. Thank you for helping with this.

P.E. days are Tuesdays and Thursdays, so students can wear their P.E. uniform on these days. Full school uniform needs to be worn every other day.

Library borrowing is on Tuesdays, so students will be able to change their take home readers on these days.

I look forward to a great year in Year 1 this year. Let’s work together to provide the best learning experiences for your children.
